Wanda O. Bierman, 89, of Dieterich died at 8:24pm Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 10:30am Tuesday, January 5 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Monday at the church with a 6pm parish wake service. Memorials to the donor's choice. Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda was born December 23, 1926 in Neoga, the daughter of Raymond and Velva (Pardieck) Walk. She married Leonard H. “Plinky” Bierman on October 11, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 16, 2005. Wanda was a member of the St. Isidore Parish and the St. Isidore Council of Catholic Women. She spent her earlier times taking care of her family, golfing and doing ceramics. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards, dominos and traveling around her home in her golf cart. Sh was the last original member of the “Jolly Nine Card Club”.

Wanda is survived by her three sons, Kenneth (Mary Carol), Robert “Bob” (JoAnn) and Ralph (Diana), all of Dieterich; two daughters, Donna (Dean) Keller of Effingham and Debra “Debbie” (Rod) Thoele of Teutopolis; three brothers, Donald (Joy) Walk of Brownstown, Roy (Marilyn) Walk of Neoga and Max (Carol) Walk of Neoga; 22 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren also survive.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Harold and Dean Walk; two sisters, Vivian (Leroy) Tebbe and Katherine Coleman.
