John Warner (83) of Post Oak

John Warner, 83 of Post Oak, died at 8:18 PM Friday, August 31, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Liberty Christian Church, Sefton. A celebration of life service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Liberty Church, with burial to follow in Post Oak Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by C & A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo. Memorials are requested to Ballard Nature Center, Altamont.
John was born on April 14, 1929 the son of William Ray and Sarah E. (Dial) Warner. He married Donna S. Sefton on November 24, 1946 at Sefton and she preceded him on August 19, 2005. John was a retired lineman from Southwestern Electric. He was an avid bicyclist, hunter, fisherman, gardener, trap shooter, and mushroom hunter. John was an exceptionally gifted electrician, mechanic, welder, and carpenter and could always be counted on to devise a creative solution for any problem.
Surviving are his sons, Bill (Althea) Warner of St. Elmo, Butch (Iva) Warner of Post Oak, and Danny (Tammy) Warner of Post Oak; daughters, Joann (Terry) Miller of Stewardson, Jean (Rick) Miller of Altamont, Judy (Bill) Thies of Effingham, and Tammy (Tom) Logsdon of St. Elmo; special friend, Carolyn White of St. Elmo, 22 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and special dog, Buddy.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lewis Clark, Ralph Warner, Richard Warner, Henry Warner, and Harry Warner, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
