Ronald C. Florey, 67, of Beecher City, IL, passed away at 1:53 AM Thursday July 31, 2014 in St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Graveside services will be held at 4pm Sunday at Hubbartt Cemetery, near Beecher City. Visitation will be from 1 to 3:30pm Sunday at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City. Rev. Sid Hutchison will officiate. Memorials to the donor's choice.

Ron was born August 27, 1946 in Cass City, MI the on of John Lucius and Cora Lee Lawrence Florey. He married Lucille Matson July 24, 1976 at the Holland Church in Holland, IL. Ron worked as a farm and bus mechanic for many years and enjoyed working on antique tractors. For 32 years he was the Highway Commissioner for Liberty Township in Fayette County. Ron served his country honorably as a United States Marine in Viet Nam during the war. He was a Combat Engineer with the 11th Engineering Battalion. He was a member of the Beecher City American Legion Post # 534 and was active in the Ways of God Ministries.
Surviving are his wife Lucille; sons: Wesley Florey of Beecher City and Eric (Sarah) of Effingham; grandchildren: Lilly Florey and Sawyer Florey; brothers and sisters: Connie (Leonard) Stewart of Beecher City, Jerry (Margie) Florey of Cowden, IL, Joanne Walls of Beecher City and Judy Kuhlman of Mason, IL; sister-in-law Barbara Florey of Shumway, IL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Florey, sisters: Betty Ricketts and Peggy Florey, brothers-in law Wilbur Ricketts, Terry Walls and John Kuhlman.
