Shumway Freedom House Food & Clothing Pantry will have it's big Saturday give away both Saturday, February 27 and Saturday, March 26 from 8:30am-12pm. They will also give food away on special Tuesdays and Wednesdays based on how many is in your family so everyone needs to bring a couple of large boxes!
March dates are: Tuesdays: March 1 and 8 from 4-6pm, Wednesdays: March 9 and 16 from noon to 2pm.
Examples of items to be handed out for March are: Several meat choices, laundry soap, dairy products, soap & shampoos, fresh vegetables, diapers, and canned and box goods. It's recommended that you bring a large laundry basket because they are sturdier then boxes. Everyone leaves with approximately 50 lbs. of groceries. They have an abundance of hair products and nail polish plus Meow Mix for your cat and clothes for all ages too.
There are no qualifications to receive groceries. No income check. Shumway Freedom House Food & Clothing Pantry is located at the old grade school in Shumway (304 Southwest street). Call Dawn: 217-240-1736 to make your free appointment.
