The 3rd Annual Scarecrow Festival, sponsored by Helen Matthes Library and TREC, kicks off on Saturday, October 25. For $20 per team/family, groups will receive one pumpkin, one scarecrow frame and stuffing material to make their personalized scarecrow. We invite families, co-workers and friends to take this time to get into the spirit of the season and get a team together! The event will run from 10:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. on Saturday October 25th. Teams are encouraged to bring materials to dress their scarecrow head to toe, including markers, paints, clothing and anything you might need to put your scarecrow together. Your scarecrow will then be displayed along the TREC trail through the fall season. On the day of the event, please park at the Effingham Performance Center and walk to the main entrance of the trailhead. You can register for the event at Helen Matthes Library. Your registration form and entry fee of $20 is due by October 22, 2014. All proceeds will go to the Helen Matthes Library Building Fund.
