Community Calendar

This holiday season, Visit Effingham invites you to flip the switch on tradition for an all-NEW magical event.  We are trading competition for community and turning Effingham into a twinkling wonderland for our first annual Holiday Lights & Festive Sights Tour!  Decorate your residence to help spread holiday cheer and welcome visitors throughout the season!  All residents residing within city limits are invited to participate in this holiday light tour.  Entries are due by Monday, December 9th.  Only 20 homes will be accepted for this year’s tour, and all 20 will receive a yard sign denoting their participation. 

Residences need to be completely decorated when they call to enter.  A photo must be submitted via email or direct message, as well.  Call the Effingham Tourism Office at 217-342-5310 to enter your home. 

Starting Friday, December 13th, take your family on a dazzling tour around town!  Pick up a scorecard from Visit Effingham at City Hall - or download it from our social media channels - and vote for your favorite home on the tour by December 30th.  The People’s Choice Winner will walk away with $250.  

Homes can be voted for online at Visit Effingham's Facebook page: Visit Effingham, at www.VisitEffinghamIL.com or in person at Effingham City Hall (201 E Jefferson Ave).  Voting will be open December 13th through the 30th at noon. The People’s Choice winner will be announced on December 30th in the afternoon.
