The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS)/Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery, in cooperation with the Illinois State Police (ISP) and the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA), invite you to the kick-off session of the Southeast Central Illinois Deflection Initiative.

The Southeast Central Illinois Deflection Initiative will focus on Crawford, Clay, Jasper, Marion, Effingham, Richland, Wabash, and Lawrence Counties.

This in-person event on Wednesday, October 9th at 10:00 am will be held at the HSHS St Anthony Memorial Hospital Auditorium, 503 North Maple Street in Effingham.

This event aims to bring together Southeast Central Illinois agencies, organizations, and individuals to learn more about the emerging field of deflection, which partners first responders, service providers, and the local community in a shared approach to responding to people experiencing substance use and behavioral health issues.

Please RSVP to Matt Doss, Program Manager, with TASC's Center for Health and Justice (CHJ).  We will work alongside Southeast Central Illinois and local partners, providing consultation and technical assistance to launch this initiative.  This meeting is a chance to learn, ask questions, and consider your involvement in the deflection initiative.
