Get ready for the 2012 Effingham County basketball season Monday, December 10 at 6 pm. as Helen Matthes Library hosts local author and Altamont citizen of the year, Kurt Becker. Becker will share a presentation of his book, Hoops! The History of Boys Basketball in Effingham County and what makes basketball such an integral part of the Central Illinois experience. Copies of the book will be available for purchase the night of the event.
