Merten Chosen New Health Administrator

 

The Effingham County Board of Health has announced that Rebecca Merten has been confirmed as the next Public Health Administrator at the Effingham County Health Department.

 

Merten is a local nurse practitioner who has practiced in the healthcare field for many years.  She graduated from Lake Land College and Eastern Illinois University and has experience in public health and home health.

 

“We are quite pleased to be able to install someone of Rebecca’s caliber over the County Health Department, “ stated Dot Behrns, president of the board of health.  “We look forward to a professional, stabilizing influence from Rebecca and we are confident she will create cooperative alliances with the other community stakeholders.”

 

Merten and her husband, Matthew, reside in Effingham.
