Teutopolis Village Board members Wednesday fine tuned the village's ordinance allowing the use of golf carts on village streets.
The change identifies where golf cart operators can cross Main Street, which is US Route 40 through Teutopolis. The only place where the carts can cross Main Street is the four-way stop where a flashing red light is located. The specific location needed to be included in the ordinance. The original ordinance allowing golf cart use was approved in December.
The Teutopolis Board also passed measures seeking funding for extension of water and sewer service west of the village along the north side of US 40. A local consortium known as Wooden Shoe Development Group hopes to develop the property commercially.
The measures approved by the Board seek grant funds for water and sewer extensions, as well as funding for road construction.
The Board also voted to temporarily close portions of Oak and Vine Streets for the Village's Terquasquicentennial Celebration in August where fireworks will be fired.
There was discussion in closed session about negotiations on wholesale water rates, but there was no action in open session.
