The trial of murder suspect Christine Burr has been delayed until March.
The 57-year-old Burr is charged with three counts of first degree murder and one count of concealment of a homicidal death in the death of Joseph Delaney in Effingham. Burr is charged with fatally stabbing Delaney after throwing a pot of boiling water in his face. She and two co-defendants are charged with disposing of Delaney's body in a rural part of Jasper County.
State's Attorney Bryan Kibler asked for the delay in the February 10 trial date, citing a delay in information from the State Crime Lab in Springfield. Public Defender Scott Schmidt had no objection to the delay.
Judge Sherri Tungate rescheduled Burr's trial for March 10th at 8:30am with a pre-trial hearing at 11am on February 20.
Burr's co-defendants, 40-year-old Kristy Mathis and 25-year-old Zebediah Houser, both of Effingham, are due in court for pre-trial hearings later this month.
