The trial of an Effingham man on child sex crimes has now been scheduled for May.
51-year-old James D. Zumbahlen faces more than 30 counts including some Class X felony counts. He faces various sex offenses involving children over a 20-year period of time.
Zumbahlen's trial is now set to begin May 5, almost a year after his original trial date. A telephone conference call with Judge Dennis Middendorff is set for February 5 to discuss any pending motions. Some motions were dealt with during a pre-trial hearing. One new motion to be considered is a requst to open mental health records.
