Fatal Wound Was Self-Inflicted

After a thorough investigation into the death of 27-year-old Michael Brown including an autopsy study, Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen has determined Brown died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Brown was sitting on the front steps of a rural Shobonier home with a friend just before 6pm Monday.  His friend went into the home to retrieve an item.  While in the home, the friend heard a gunshot.  The friend went to check on Brown and found him lying on the steps of the home.

Brown was pronounced dead at 6:18pm Monday at the scene.
