Series of Crashes w/Injuries in Recent Days

State police have handled a series of crashes involving injuries in recent days.
An Olney man was injured in a crash in Jasper County just after 9am Tuesday.
The crash happened on Illinois 130, four miles south of Newton and involved a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Dominick Baker of Olney. Police said Baker's vehicle drifted off the road and struck a culvert before overturning. Baker suffered a broken foot among other injuries and was taken to Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney for treatment.
Baker was cited for improper lane usage and no insurance on his vehicle.
A Mason man was injured in a crash Sunday evening.
The crash happened at the bottom of an exit ramp along Interstate 57 at Edgewood. Police say a SUV driven by 71-year-old Herbert Wort of Mason collided with a semi driven by 66-year-old Thomas Deardoff of Salina, Ohio.
Wort was injured and was taken for treatment to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Wort was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, which occurred shortly after 5pm.
An early Sunday morning crash injured a Newton man.
The crash occurred at 5:06am along Illinois 130 just north of Newton. Police say a truck driven by 26-year-old Ryan Bass of Newton drifted off the road to the left and went down an embankment. The truck then hit an embankment running up to a roadway then traveled along a low flood line and into a ditch.
Bass was injured and was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Bass was cited for DUI, improper lane usage and not wearing a seat belt.
A Newton woman was injured in a three-vehicle crash involving two cars and a semi Friday night.
The crash happened just after 6pm along Illinois 130 in Jasper County. The driver of one of the cars involved, 26-year-old Alexandra Mier y Leon of Newton was injured. She was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana.
