Three people were injured in an overnight crash near Montrose.

State Police were called at 12:01am Saturday to I-70 eastbound, two miles west of Montrose.  A car in the driving lane drifted over into the passing lane and sideswiped a semi.  The contact caused the semi to cross both eastbound lanes and off the road through the guardrail.  The car ran off the road into the guardrail and overturned.

The driver of the car, 52-year-old Aretha McLucas and her passenger, 23-year-old Nouri McLucas, both of Indianapolis were injured as was the semi driver, 37-year-old Alvin Seger of Cottage Hills. Aretha McLucas was airlifted from the scene to Carle Hospital in Urbana, while Nouri McLucas and Seger were taken for treatment to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.  Teutopolis firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate Aretha McLucas from her vehicle.

Agencies assisting at the scene were the Effingham County Sheriff's Department, Effingham City Police Department, Illinois State Police, Effingham City-County Ambulance Service, Teutopolis Fire Protection District and Air Evac.
