Effingham Water Authority trustees have received a donation from Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Gray.
The Grays donated $1,500 for new playground equipment at the Community Building at Lake Sara.
Matt Haynie spoke to the Board about waiving the boat sticker fee for a two-day tournament in September 2014. Trustees asked Haynie to provide a letter with more details for consideration at the January meeting.
The Board reviewed building guidelines in regard to the length of a boat house under cover. The current guidelines state the structure may not extend more than 20 feet into the reservoir at its furthest point of extension from the shoreline at the 580-foot water level of the reservoir. A variance can allow for an extension up to 24 feet. However, many boat houses are being constructed as much as 60 feet long with the structures being built further back into the lot. Lake Superintendent Mike Dirks will measure several boat houses to arrive at an average length. The matter was tabled for now.
