Olney Authorities Investigating Attempted Bank Robbery

Olney police are investigating an attempted robbery of the main branch of the First National Bank of Olney.

The attempted holdup was reported about 11:30am Tuesday.  The man involved in the attempt fled the scene and is still being sought.

Olney police say nothing was taken in the incident, no weapon was displayed and no one was hurt.

The suspect is believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, heavy in build and approximately six feet tall.  The suspect has a large cut on his left cheek.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a black stocking cap and a tan jacket.  Those items were recovered by police a few blocks from the scene.
