Machine Shed Total Loss South of Mattoon

Crews from Mattoon Fire Department, Neoga and Lincoln were called to a machine shed fire at a business south of Mattoon Saturday.

The shed, at Dean Drainage LLC on south U.S. 45 near Lake Land College, was declared a total loss estimated at $750,000 by Chief Jerry Schultz of the Wabash Fire Protection District.

A passerby reported the fire before midnight Saturday and firefighters found the building fully engulfed on their arrival. There was no cause determined as yet.

Damage was to four pickup trucks, a forklift and two other vehicles.
