Four people from Effingham County were injured in an early Thursday morning crash north of Louisville.
State police say the crash occurred at 3:15am Thursday on US 45, five miles north of Louisville. Passengers in the vehicle say the SUV driven by 22-year-old Benjamin Wilson of Teutopolis came upon several deer on the highway. Wilson swerved the vehicle in an attempt to miss the deer and lost control of the unit. The SUV ran off the road and rolled over several times, coming to rest in the west ditch. Wilson and a passenger, 21-year-old Robert Dasenbrock of Effingham, were thrown from the vehicle. Two other passengers, 21-year-old Christopher Ludwig of Sigel and 20-year-old Shelby Everett of Effingham, were also injured in the crash.
Police say Wilson and Dasenbrock were airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana for treatment. Ludwig and Everett were taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora.
An investigation into the crash continues.
