State Representative David Reis (R-Ste. Marie) has announced his support for State Senator Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) and State Rep. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) to be the 2014 Republican nominees for Governor and Lt. Governor, citing the need for what he termed Dillard and Tracy's "proven track record of leadership."
"My friends Kirk Dillard and Jil Tracy will make the perfect 'one-two team' to lead our state forward and move us beyond the fiscal nightmare and stagnation we find our state in thanks to the Blagojevich and Quinn administrations," Reis said. "Together Kirk and Jil are exactly what voters are looking for in the Republican primary - the best, regionally balanced ticket to win against the northern Democratic machine."
Reis highlighted Dillard's family ties to southern and downstate Illinois and previous experience as Governor Edgar's Chief of Staff as a motivating factor for the endorsement.
"Senator Dillard was educated at Western Illinois University and has worked in the true State Capitol of Springfield. Kirk is committed to returning a traditional family to the Governor's Mansion and I guarantee he will live there."
"Jil Tracy is my friend and serves with me in the Illinois House, she was born and raised in Carbondale and holds two degrees from Southern Illinois University," Reis said. "Her family roots run deep and wide throughout the state and her family run company employs over 2,000 Illinoisans. Jil will serve as Kirk's ambassador to bring business into our state and fight to keep our employers here and growing."
The Dillard-Tracy team is committed to the conservative family values of pro-life, traditional marriage and the Second Amendment. "Kirk Dillard was the original sponsor of concealed-carry back in the 1990s. Jil Tracy has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with me over the years to keep family values on the forefront of the legislative agenda."
Illinois primaries will be held on March 18, 2014. For more information on the Dillard-Tracy team please visit www.kirkdillard.com
