Neoga Unit 3 School District was awarded a $25,000 grant from Monsanto to purchase five SMART Boards for math and science classrooms.
The grant process began when local farmers nominated the school district for eligibility, which then allowed the district to complete the grant application. Principal Ben Johnson and teacher Vicky Ludwig completed the application with assistance from Joanie Titus, Debbie Modglin and Tracy Wright.
The district will now have SMART Boards in all sixth through 12th grade math and science classrooms. SMART Boards are interactive whiteboards that allow and increase student engagement through virtual labs and access to online curriculum to enhance normal classroom activities.
