Teutopolis Village Board members Wednesday agreed to form an economic development committee.

The committee will consist of village trustees Greg Oseland, John Mette and Roger Henderson.  The action follows months of discussion and information provided by Jennifer Kibler who has been gathering ideas for the village.

The Board heard no objections when it held a hearing at the start of the meeting on the sale of bonds.  The bond revenue would generate up to $1.75 million to finance construction of a potable water transmission line from Teutopolis to Newton.  Newton would produce the water and send it by the pipeline to Teutopolis.  The issuance of the bonds could occur within the next month.

The Teutopolis Board set Trick or Treat Night for Friday, October 25 from 6:30 to 8pm, following the Lions Club Halloween Parade.  The Board also agreed to pay $5,749.14 to Connor and Connor Engineeers for the street overlay project now underway.  Portions of both Race Street and Walnut Street are being resurfaced.

Board members authorized Village Clerk Sharon Will to attend a meeting September 25 in Charleston on electrical aggregation, and were reminded that Baby Huey will be in Teutopolis this Saturday, September 21, from 8am to noon.  Baby Huey will be stationed at the Teutopolis Village Maintenance Building at 413 North Green, and will accept donations of anything with a cord.  You're asked not to drop off anything before 8am Saturday or after noon that same day.
