A crash we told you about that rerouted traffic off I-70 near Greenup Tuesday involved three semis.
State police say the crash occurred at 3:37pm two miles west of Greenup in a construction zone in the westbound lanes. Rigs driven by 66-year-old Dennis Moore of West Memphis, Arkansas and 47-year-old Derrick Patterson of Lancaster, California were stopped in the zone due to other traffic and rainfall when a rig driven by 48-year-old Gary Walker of Troy, Missouri rear-ended the Patterson rig, causing it to rear-end the rig driven by Moore.
Patterson and his passenger, 42-year-old Tisha Hands of Lancaster, California, were both injured and were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.
Walker was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
The collision blocked westbound travel on I-70 for some time, and traffic was routed off the interstate to US 40 between Greenup and Montrose.
