Property Tax Dollars Being Distributed

The first distribution of Effingham County property tax dollars paid in 2013 will be made Thursday.

An amount of $23,387,085.79 is being distributed by direct deposit.

The five largest distributions were made to Effingham Unit 40--$7,411,738.97...Teutopolis Unit 50--$2,208,684.58...Effingham County--$2,068,919.19...City of Effingham--$1,760,081.96...and Lake Land College--$1,736,166.80.  The smallest distribution went to St. Elmo Unit 202--$120.26.

The second installment of property tax is due Friday, October 11.  Taxes may be paid at any bank in the county, mailed (and the due date postmark will be accepted), paid online, or at the County Treasurer's office located on the second floor of the Effingham County Office Building, located west across 4th Street from the old Courthouse.
