57th Annual Stewardson Lions Club Homecoming This Weekend

The 57th Annual Stewardson Lions Club Homecoming is scheduled for Friday, August 23- Sunday, August 25.
Festivities kick off Friday night with the opening of the food stand at 4:30. There will be bounce house activities available from 5:30 – 10:30. Cost for the bounce houses will be $1 per ride or and unlimited armband for $5. Rides will be free for children 3 & under.
Stage entertainment Friday night will feature students from Dance etc. performing from 6-7 and the Matt Poss Band taking the stage from 8-11. There will be a beer garden area operated by the C.O.W.S for the Matt Poss Band performance.
Saturday will see activities at 3 locations throughout the day. Weigh-in for the tractor pull will begin at 9 a.m. and pulling will begin at 10. There are 21 classes featuring everything from antique tractors to pick up trucks to 20,000 lb. semis. Pulling activities will be held at the tractor pull track on the Westside of town. Food, soft drinks and beer will be available on the grounds. Please no carry in alcohol. Admission is $3 for adults, those 12 and under are free.
Also on Saturday, there will be craft vendors in the park on West Main St. from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Along with the vendors will be a mechanical bull from 11-6 in the park. The Lions food stand will open at 10 a.m. and the inflatable activities will be available from 1-10:30 p.m. Kids’ games will be held at the ballpark on W. South 4th St. at 4 p.m.
Activities return to the village park for Saturday night. Featured on the stage will be a demonstration by students from Larson’s Karate from 6-7 followed by musical entertainment by Loudon Country from 7-10. Admission to the kids’ games and activities in the village park is free.Along with the above entertainment, there will be Bingo from 7-11 p.m. food concessions and 7 bounce houses both nights.
Sunday’s activities will feature a garden tractor pull at the tractor pull site. Weigh-in begins at 12 Noon and pulling begins at 1 p.m. On the stage in the village park, the 2013 Miss Stewardson coronation will begin at 2 p.m. Following the coronation will be the raffle drawings. One raffle features an AR-15. Tickets for the AR-15 raffle are $10 each or 3 for $20 and may be purchased from any Lions Club member. The queen raffle features 121 prizes donated by the Lions Club and numerous area businesses. Tickets for this raffle are $1 each or a book of 25 for $20. These tickets may be purchased from any Lions Club member or any of the 3 queen candidates.
