The Teutopolis woman charged in a Douglas County attempted murder-for-hire case has been appointed legal counsel.
Jennifer Inman said in court Friday morning that she couldn't afford her own attorney, so Douglas County Public Defender James Lee was appointed to handle her case.
Inman is charged with attempting to hire someone to kill her ex-boyfriend. She was arrested August 7 in Tuscola after police staged a covert operation at the Tanger Outlet Mall.
Inman is to make her next court appearance for a preliminary hearing on September 4. She remains in the Douglas County Jail under $500,000 bond.
