Crash on Effingham's Northwest Side Thursday Morning

We had some information on the air Thursday morning regarding a crash on Effingham's northwest side.  More details are now available from city police.

The crash happened at 6:27am north of the intersection of Keller Drive and Ford Avenue.  A vehicle driven by 20-year-old Mark Mathis of Shumway left the roadway, struck and damaged a landscape wall owned by IDOT, and went down an embankment and overturned.

Mathis was injured, but declined treatment.

Police cited Mathis for improper lane usage.
