Three members of a Farina family were injured in a Sunday afternoon crash.
State police say 50-year-old James Yingst was traveling on Illinois 37 just south of the Effingham-Clay County line when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer on the roadway. The Yingst vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned several times into a deep ravine.
James Yingst was injured as were his passengers 41-year-old Hope Yingst and four-year-old River Yingst. All three were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
The crash occurred at 3:46pm.
