Two bills aimed at improving educational opportunities for Illinois veterans are now law.
Governor Quinn signed a measure over the weekend to extend tuition waivers for members of the National Guard from four years to six years. He also signed a bill to allow students using their GI Bill benefits to receive in-state tuition. The tuition waiver applies to National Guard members who attend a state college and have served in the Illinois Guard for more than 10 years.
