Students Returning to EIU for Fall Semester

Eastern Illinois University’s residence halls officially will open Thursday, Aug. 15, for the Fall 2013 semester.  Most of the university’s on-campus population will return to campus on that day.

Historically, traffic on streets near campus becomes congested on the first move-in day and remain so throughout the following Sunday.  Anyone wishing to bypass the heaviest traffic should avoid Grant Avenue, as well as Fourth, Seventh and Ninth streets south of Lincoln Avenue from Aug. 15 through 18 whenever possible.

Fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 19.
