Two Injured in Friday Crash in Effingham

Two people were injured Friday morning in a crash in Effingham.

City police say a vehicle driven by 91-year-old Walter Wendte of Altamont struck a vehicle driven by 76-year-old Lois Ikemire of Oblong.  The crash happened at 10:13am at Temple and Merchant.

Ikemire and her passenger, 76-year-old Paul Perkins of Oblong, were injured and were taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Wendte was ticketed for disobeying a traffic control device.
