Effingham Child Development Center says that its most recent fundraising campaign successfully paid off the center's mortgage.

Center officials say paying off the mortgage strengthens their mission, allowing even greater focus on providing high-quality early childhood education in what they say is a "nurturing and supportive environment."

The announcement of the fundraising goal indicated a particularly generous donation from a local family, who wishes to remain anonymous, played a pivotal role.

ECDC Board Chair Leah Tedrick said, "We are beyond grateful for the outpouring of support from our community. By eliminating this financial burden, we can now dedicate more resources to enhancing our programs, supporting our educators, and enriching the learning experiences of the children we serve."

ECDC provides childcare for children six weeks to 13 years old. Find out more about ECDC at https://effinghamchild.com
