Effingham County Write-In Votes Reported

Effingham County Clerk Michelle Kollmann has finalized their numbers for write-in votes.

The totals include all of the ballots cast through Election Night Tuesday. Kollmann said they might have more as more vote mail-in ballots, so numbers could change slightly. Those ballots will not be processed until after April 15.

The write-in votes for Effingham Unit 40 school board are as follows:

Desha Wear--four-year term--103

Erica Boone--four-year term--106

Chad Thompson--unexpired two-year term--144

The write-in votes for Village of Shumway trustee are as follows:

Richard Milanic--four-year term--6

Joe Kemme--four-year term--27

Brian Sandschafer--four-year term--21

Steve Sutter--two-year unexpired term--24

Kollmann also reported that 1,244 vote-by-mail ballots were mailed out. As of Tuesday, 468 of those ballots have been returned and counted. That leaves 776 ballots still out. Those vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked the day of the election for them to be counted.
