
Two People Hurt in Collision at 32/33 Junction

Two people were injured in a crash at the Illinois Rts 32/33 junction northwest of Effingham Wednesday afternoon.
Effingham County Sheriff's Office investigated the crash, which occurred at 4:19pm. 16-year-old Leila Wright of Beecher City was attempting to turn from Route 32 onto Route 33. 33-year-old Elizabeth Hartke of Beecher City was westbound on Route 33.
Deputies report that Wright thought Hartke was slowing down to turn onto Route 32 and Wright attempted to turn onto Route 33. Hartke continued westbound and Wright collided with Hartke, causing air bag deployment.
Hartke was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Wright was treated by EMS personnel at the crash scene.
No citations were issued.
