Planning continues for Clay County's Bicentennial Celebration, as the county turns 200 years old this year.
Clay County Clerk Brenda Britton told the Clty County Board at this month's meeting that a celebration is planned on July 12 from 4 to 9pm on the courthouse square in Louisville.
Organizers are encouraging the various townships to host a booth and share the history of their founding and historical tidbits.
There will be food vendors, entertainment, a 5K run, a car show, and tractor show. The Genealogical Society is planning special performances and is encouraging people to join their organization.
There is a Facebook page, claycountyilbicentennialcelebration.
