
Spring Forward on Saturday Night!

Saturday night (or Sunday morning) is the night to spring forward as we transition to Daylight Saving Time.
2am Sunday is the official Spring Forward time in order to get an extra hour of daylight in the evening hours.
The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal reminds Illinoisans to test, inspect and replace broken or expired smoke and CO alarms in their properties. A new 10-year sealed battery alarm is recommended.
The National Fire Protection Association reports almost three out of every five home fire deaths in the nation resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or non-working smoke alarms. More than one-third of home fire deaths result from fires in which no smoke alarms are present. Whem working smoke alarms are present in your home, the Association says the risk of dying in a home fire is cut by 60%.
