The Illinois Department of Transportation announced the daytime closure of Chestnut Street (Illinois 37) between Washington Street and Jefferson Street in Farina beginning on Monday, for the removal of grain bins. The work is expected to last just over a month.

ADM will coordinate the removal of the grain bins. A detour utilizing Jefferson Street, Walnut Street and Washington Street will be posted.

Motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour or find an alternate route. In addition, motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
