City Treasurer Named Employee of the Quarter

The City of Effingham would like to congratulate City Treasurer, Bridget Polk, on being awarded Employee of the Quarter as a part of the City’s Employee Recognition Program.

The Employee of the Quarter Award recognizes an employee who demonstrated either distinguished or extraordinary service during the fiscal quarter or other accomplishments that typically go unnoticed but are worthy of recognition.

A release from the City states: "Bridget has proven to be an invaluable member of the team, stepping into the role of City Treasurer during a transitional period when the City was without a permanent treasurer. Her ability to quickly adapt and take charge of the department has made a significant impact on the City's financial operations. Since joining the City, Bridget has implemented numerous improvements in the finance department that have led to greater efficiency. She has streamlined various processes, ensuring smoother operations while enhancing the overall functionality of the department. Notably, Bridget has proactively researched and compared interest rates among local financial institutions, leading to a considerable increase in the City’s monthly interest earnings. Her positive attitude and constant drive to find better solutions reflect her commitment to the City. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Bridget has proven to be an indispensable asset to the City of Effingham."
