Effingham County 911 board members Tuesday to hire Brian Baker of Rochester to do work on the transmitter tower next to the Effingham County Office Building and the county sheriff's office. The work will cost $5,200 and will include removing excess equipment and painting the tower.

The work will take place once the weather improves.

The 911 Board also voted to seek requests for proposals on console furniture for one of the 911 dispatching centers.

Dave Faller of West and Company told the board that 911 had a clean audit for the past fiscal year.
