Effingham Public Library board members Monday heard that the annual fund campaign resulted in 66 donors contributing just under $20,000.

The contributions will go toward the cost of the Children's Room expansion project. The work is targeted for May.

The Board updated a policy violation statement. Library Director Amanda McKay said the statement shares what happens when someone doesn't follow the rules. They also reviewed those board members whose terms conclude in April. One of those is Jerrod Chesnut, who has asked not to be reappointed at this time, but would like to return to the Board at a future date. Two other terms are ending, those of Lisa Koerner and City Administrator Steve Miller.

The Board is reviewing its agreement with the Genealogical Society, which operates in the library. An agreement could involve insurance as well as other matters. A genealogy society member is expected to staff the materials for a specific time. It was also decided to seek quotes for cleaning.

The Board reviewed its volunteer policy; no changes were made.
