Shelby County board members Thursday approved a three-year lease to farm the county farm.
The Board received four bids to farm the land. The bid was awarded to Orville Eversole. Board Chairman Tad Mayhall said some more clarification may be needed before the award is finalized.
The Board tabled a proposed amendment to the county zoning ordinance providing for automatic moratoriums for wind and solar facilities. The motion to table by the full board came after a recommendation on the moratorium from the county zoning board.
Board members established a role as program compliance oversight monitor for the CEFS Public Transit system. Shelby County oversees public transit in a six-county area.
Shelby board members agreed to go halves with Prairie Township and with Oconee Township on bridge projects; approved County Clerk Jessica Fox as IMRP Authorized Agent for the county; and approved appointments of Penny Standerfer and Annie Reed to the Mental Health 708 Board, Betsy Stilabower to the Zoning Board of Appeals, Tricia Miller to the CEFS Board, and LaVonne Chaney to the West Central Development Council.
