Less Snow, but More Ice in Wednesday Weather System

There might be less snow in Wednesday's winter weather system, but more ice.

The Weather Service office in Lincoln held a media update Tuesday afternoon. The outlook is now for two to six inches in the area around Champaign and west, and less than an inch in the Effingham area.

The problem now is that our area is now expected to receive up to a tenth of an inch of ice on Wednesday. Add to that 20MPH or stronger winds and it could be an interesting evening. The brunt of the storm in our area is expected from later Wednesday afternoon to Wednesday evening.
