A single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning has resulted in injuries to the driver.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a vehicle left East Street, just south of Main Street in Watson at 1:31am.  Deputies said the vehicle struck a culvert and went airborne and then struck a mailbox and appeared to overturn, striking a tree.  The impact ejected the vehicle's driver, 17-year-old Hayden Limes of Mason.

Limes was first taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham and then was transferred to Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Limes was cited for DUI, no valid driver's license, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Watson firefighters and Effingham City-County Ambulance Service assisted Effingham County sheriff's deputies at the crash scene.
