Chief Judge Martin W. Siemer, on behalf of the Fourth Judicial Circuit, would like to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of National Court Reporting and Captioning Week from February 1-8.  These courtroom professionals are vital in preparing an official written transcript of all courtroom proceedings.

The court reporters in the Fourth Circuit are valuable members of the court who work diligently to preserve vital court records.  They are impartial, reliable, dedicated, and outstanding individuals who strive for accuracy and accountability.

The Fourth Circuit employs 14 court reporters who cover nine counties – Christian, Clay, Clinton, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Marion, Montgomery, and Shelby.

This week, the State of Illinois Court Reporting Services announced that enrollment is open to qualified individuals for its tuition-free Officialship Training Program.  Successful certification under this program includes an offer of employment as an Official Court Reporter for the State of Illinois.  For anyone interested in joining this exciting and rewarding profession, more information can be found at https://www.ilcrs.com/training.
