J&J Gaming Charity has announced the opening of the annual application period for the Jim & Kay Jansen Scholarship for the 2025-2026 school year.

In 2018, Jim & Kay Jansen and Family started the Scholarship fund to award 100% of tuition and fees for all four years at St. Anthony High School for six incoming freshmen, who have not previously attended St. Anthony Grade School. Today, the Jim & Kay Jansen Scholarship has supported over 40 students in pursuing education excellence at St. Anthony High School.

The Scholarship aims to strengthen St. Anthony High School by promoting its core values, culture, and curriculum into the local community. Through the generosity of J&J Gaming Charity and the Jansen family, the Scholarship seeks to expand the school’s positive impact across South-Central Illinois, attracting students who embody the mission, vision, and values of the school.

To qualify for the Jim & Kay Jansen Scholarship, students are required to transfer to St. Anthony High School and should not have been previously enrolled at St. Anthony Grade School. The number of scholarship awards for each grade school or junior high school will not exceed two students.

“The Jansen family has a longstanding commitment to community philanthropy,” said J&J Gaming CEO Bob Willenborg. “The Jansen family grandchildren have greatly benefited from their exceptional education and high school experiences at St. Anthony High School. The Jim & Kay Jansen Scholarship hopes to extend that opportunity to future students and to continue to foster the overall appeal of the school while relieving the burden of financial constraints.”

More information and the application for the Jim & Kay Jansen Scholarship can be found at jjventures.com, st.anthony.com, or picked up at the St. Anthony Parish offices located at 101 E. Virginia Avenue in Effingham, IL. Applications are due by March 31, 2025, and must be turned into the St. Anthony Parish office or emailed to Carrie Koenig at ckoenig@stanthony.com.
