Altamont Council Approves Replat Work in South Point Subdivision

Altamont city council members Monday approved the final replatting of lots in South Point Subdivision. The replats square off the lots in the residential subdivision, leaving the lots to be developed within the city limits, and the remaining land back outside the city

The Council rescheduled a bid opening on water main materials for February 20. The water mains will be replaced from US Route 40 to Monroe Street. Also approved was the purchase of filter media for filter replacement at the water treatment plant for the coming three years.

Council members also approved regulating electric department on-call time compensation. The change indicates that if an employee can't work their regular shift due to illness, they won't be called back after hours that day in case of an emergency.
