Paul Koerner, Board Chairman of Koerner Distributor, was named this year's Effingham Citizen of the Year. The announcement came at Saturday night's annual Chamber Gala.

Koerner was recognized for the success and growth of the distributorship. The award was also presented in recognition of Koerner's support of various charitable endeavors, chiefly the Koerner Sports Spectacular that has raised more than $1.5 million for the sports programs at Effingham High School and St. Anthony High School.

The award is presented annually by the Effingham Daily News.

The banquet audience also saw the presentation of the annual Volunteer of the Year award to Melissa Willenborg. Willenborg has helped with a number of volunteer activities including 100+ Women of Effingham County.

The volunteer award is presented each year by the Effingham/Teutopolis News Report.

The third annual Chamber Award for Outstanding Board Member was presented to Travis Bushue, and congratulations to our own Tonya Siner, who was honored as Chamber Ambassador of the Year.

Earlier announced are this year's Chamber Excellence in Business award winners...CW Motorsports and Effingham Veterinary Clinic.
