A local man has been sentenced to prison on a methamphetamine possession charge.
21-year-old Ronald Bruce of Effingham was arrested in July of 2024 on a series of meth-related charges including meth delivery, and dealing in fentanyl. Those counts were dismissed in exchange for a guilty plea to the meth possession count.
The sentence also was imposed in connection with two other Effingham County cases and a Clay County charge of dealing in stolen vehicles.
Bruce was sentenced to five years in prison, and was given credit for serving 168 days in jail while awaiting disposition of the case.
