Teutopolis school board members Monday continued a discussion of facility maintenance needs and potential financing options. School officials say the discussion is needed to accommodate its growing population and the need to modernize facilities.

The discussion is related to the Board's 2022 District goals.

Superintendent Matt Sturgeon said additional drawings are expected in January, and conversations about short-term and long-term facility needs will continue in coming months. Sturgeon said the conversations will include internal and external listening sessions as options develop.

Sturgeon also reported that an after-school program is again being considered through a possible third-party partner. He also shared that the Teutopolis Sportsbackers denied the Board's request for a financial contribution toward a high school bleacher replacement project, but will be willing to consider such requests in the future.

Board members passed the tax levy for the fiscal year; accepted the irrevocable resignation of Camille Neihls as a three-hour cook at the grade school as of December 20, and hired Shannon Koester to replace her.
