Dieterich village board members approved a plat of Sweet Corn Subdivision at a recent meeting.

The property is along East Center Street, across from Industrial Park East. The project involved consolidating three lots into one.

The land will house a service station and convenience store, east of Meyer Funeral Home.

Board members also heard from Village Engineer Lee Beckman, who reported that the East Section Street storm sewer project is about done; the Safe Routes to School grant project is done; the next home demolition for flood hazard mitigation grant project goes out for bid on Friday; and the CDS grant for sewer main relining is in the application process. Meanwhile, the Board approved a professional services agreement with Milano and Grunloh Engineers for the sewer main relining project. Also, the Board extended for another year a transfer of real estate with B&E Developers for two lots in Industrial Park East.

Tonight is the night for checking the entries in the village Christmas Lighting Contest; holiday pay and bonus gifts were approved for village employees and Board members; and a draft tax levy ordinance was reviewed with action on the measure expected at the December 16 meeting.

Work also continues on development of rules and regulations for operating the village cemetery.
